PORTLAND- Fullback/Linebacker Matthew Wells (6’0,240) signs with the Maine Mammoths for his sixth year of arena football. Wells played for the Triangle Torch and the Florida Tarpons, while with the Tarpons, Wells received 2nd Team Fullback of the American Arena League (AAL). In 2017, Wells played for the Georgia Firebirds of the NAL and the Southern Steam of the EIF when they won the inaugural season championship. In the 2016 season, he played for the Philadelphia Yellow Jackets of the AIF and the Central Florida Jaguars of the AIF. Wells played for the Florida Marine Raiders in the 2014 season as well as the Lakeland Tarpons. In 2013, Wells played for the Lakeland Raiders of the X-League. In 2012, he played with the Mississippi Hound Dogs. Wells started his arena career with the Macon Steel in the AIF in 2012.
Wells attended Webber International University. Wells is a native of Bartow, FL and attended Lake Region High School in Eagle Lake, FL.
