2018 National Arena League Franchise of the Year Team
Nov. 19, 2018 - (Portland, Maine) - The Maine Mammoths, a 2018 expansion team that finished with a 7-8 season, winning six of their last seven games in a thrilling five-home game win streak is available for new ownership.
In their first year as a franchise, they have already ingrained themselves into the Portland, Maine identity. The Mammoths’ popularity went unmatched for expansion teams in the National Arena League (NAL). The Mammoths’ first season as a team will serve as a positive example for 2019 and 2020 expansion teams to prove how fast teams can grow in a community in less than one calendar year.
According to the ownership group, National Sports Ventures “Our primary goal with the Maine Mammoths was to get the team up and running with a strong team of players and coaches while establishing a solid relationship with Cross Insurance Arena where the team will play again in the 2019 season. Now that those goals have exceeded our expectations, we are looking for new owners to continue and lead the team into even greater success.” With a quarterback who threw a total of 2,689 yards, and 59 total offensive touchdowns in his first season with the Mammoths (Jonathan Bane) and a coach (James Fuller) who led a team into a 7-8 record, the Maine Mammoths is set for yet another year of wins.
